Physical Assets Management
Adequate and functional infrastructure (buildings and installations) and health care technology (medical equipment) is the basis for efficient health care delivery systems. The project supports the Ministry of Health (MOH) to improve the management and maintenance of Physical Assets Management (PAM) in Malawi.
The project focuses on the support of the PAM Unit in the MOH to develop and introduce adequate national policies, standards and regulations. The project also supports the establishment of decentralised maintenance structures at all health facilities in the country, by setting up and equipping maintenance units, provision of tools and spares and by training of technicians.The project cooperates with the newly established PPP (Public Private Partnership) endeavour to contract out maintenance of medical equipment to a private contractor.
