Most scientists have teaching responsibilities at the University of Basel, especially in the Faculty of Science, but also in the Faculties of Medicine and Arts & Humanities, and accept students in various PhD programmes.
The Swiss TPH offers PhD programmes in Epidemiology, Microbiology and Zoology (Parasitology). The Swiss TPH is also responsible for the newly established PhD programmes "Medical Sciences" in the fields of Epidemiology, Public Health and Infection Biology.
Members of the Medical Faculty also teach in the Faculty of Science.
