The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute presented its annual Autumn Symposium on December 9 and December 10, 2010, in Basel, Switzerland. This year’s symposium focused on Human African Trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness). Invited speakers and experts from international organisations, partner countries and the Swiss TPH presented new strategies and interventions towards new chemotherapeutic tools for the treatment of this neglected disease as well as issues and challenges encountered during the development of new drugs.
