Rehabilitation of radiology services
Plain radiography is one of the main backbones of diagnostic services. Because of structural deficiencies and not optimised procedures, quality x-Ray services are under performing in the public health system and are often not available because of poor infrastructure, hardware constraints, lack of equipment maintenance and lack modern quality assurance systems.
The project aims at confronting these shortcomings by implementing various measures in close cooperation with the Directorate of Radiology of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population. Among those measures are: elaboration of guidelines and standards, rehabilitation of facilities, procurement and installation of appropriate equipment, training courses for technicians, managers, radiologists and maintenance engineers. The project is jointly financed by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population.
