SDC Advisory and Backstopping |
Location
Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) headquarters in Berne, Switzerland includes Missions to various partner countries.
Project
The collaboration between the Swiss TPH and the SDC in the field of International Health dates back to the 1980s. Since 1994 the Swiss Centre for International Health (SCIH) executes a technical backstopping mandate for the SDC in the thematic field of health, with a special focus on sexual and reporductive health. We provide technical assistance to SDC staff in their headquarter and cooperation offices in partner countries. Our support includes the elaboration of documents (info-packages, tool kits, newsletters, updates, etc.), capitalisation of experiences and good practices of the SDC and others, capacity building of the SDC’s collaborators and partners, represention of the SDC at conferences and meetings, as well as technical assistance in augmenting policies and guidelines.
The services to be provided are planned annually resulting in an action plan which is reviewed and adjusted during periodic follow up meetings between the SDC and the Swiss TPH. Products of this backstopping mandate can be downloaded from the SDC websites. See the links section.
