Professional Activities

  • Verena Renggli is a Public Health Pharmacist and programmatic professional with expertise in HIV care with a special focus on low resource settings, project management, pharmaceutical management, providing evidence-based health information, pharmacovigilance, and experience in the field of teaching and training including e-learning. She provides a broad range of project support activities for the Sexual and Reproductive Health Unit and further activities include the development of the field of pharmacovigilance and drug safety at the Department of Medicines Research.

  • 2009-present: Project officer, Swiss Centre for International Health and Medicines Research Department, Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute Basel
    Key areas of work: project support activities for the Sexual and Reproductive Health Unit, Development of the field of pharmacovigilance and drug safety at the Department of Medicines Research, technical, managerial and administrative assistance to activities in relation to the LFA mandate for Cambodia and Laos, and any other activities in the area of public health and pharmaceutical management 
  • 2005-2008: Research assistant at the HIV overseas unit of the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium
    Key areas of work: main tasks in teaching & training (course tutoring, lecturing, involvement in designing new courses), e-learning (designing modules and tutoring of courses), involvement in current projects such as task shifting (incl. mission for WHO), drug related projects, and offering scientific drug information to the outpatient clinic at the institute
  • 2005: Internship at REPSSI (Regional Psychosocial Support Initiative) for HIV/AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe
