Cyril Nogier

Professional activities at Swiss TPH

Cyril Nogier is a health economist at the Swiss Centre for International Health of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute. With over 20 years of work experience in developing countries he brings extensive knowledge in project management and evaluation, training and capacity building in both low and middle income countries in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. Prior to joining the SwissTPH in 2007 he managed several long term projects and organizations such as the Health System Support project in Morocco (2005-2006), the Famine Early Warning System in Madagascar (2000), CARE in Chad (1999) and PROLINK in Madagascar (1996-1998). He as also realized numerous short term mission for bi and multilateral agencies (World Bank, European Union, GIZ, SDC, Lux-Development, French Cooperation, WHO).

His main fields of competence are: health financing (with focus on health insurance), priority setting for health sector investments,  economic evaluation of health interventions and programmes (maternal and child health notably), implementation of resources planning and costing tools (iHTP, OneHealth, MBB Matrix), policy development in health and infrastructure technology (HIT) and information and communication systems in limited resources settings. He also regularly teaches health financing.
