Teaching and Training Services

Internally, Quality Management Services ensures the continuous MedRes staff training. We are responsible for the selection and training of our regional monitors. For external professionals, we offer several training courses and seminars.

Standard courses

QMS regularly offers courses in Good Clinical Practice (GCP). These compact, Swissethics accredited one and a half day trainings targeted to investigators provide comprehensive basic insight into research ethics, ICH-GCP and ancillary topics such as study design, basic statistics and data management (link).

Post-graduate trainings in clinical research

QMS is operating in partnership with the Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) of the University Hospital Basel a professional post-graduate training programme in Clinical Research and Clinical Trial Practice and Management:

  • Certificate in Advanced Studies (CAS) in Clinical Research I consisting of 4 face-to-face teaching modules (3 days each), consisting of comprises lectures, practical exercises, group discussions and self-directed learning (link)
  • Certificate in Advanced Studies (CAS) in Clinical Research II consisting of 5 face-to-face teaching modules (3 days each) (link)
  • If both CAS courses are successfully completed, and a diploma thesis related to their personal work or a special interest is accepted, the accredited University title “Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) in Clinical Trial Practice and Management”will be awarded with 30 ECTS credit points. (link)

Similarly, we are involved in modules of the Diploma of Advanced Studies DAS Management of Clinical Trials at the University of Geneva (link). Furthermore, we contribute to various post-graduate teaching courses provided by the European Center of Pharmaceutical Medicine (ECPM) an Institute of the Medical Faculty and Department of Public Health of the University of Basel (link).

Tailored courses

Research organizations and sponsors may have special needs in education and training courses. We adapt our profound expertise in teaching topics in good clinical practice, project management, public health and health interventions in resource limited settings to your needs. Teaching languages are English, French and German and the course may take place anywhere worldwide.
