Professor Inza Koné New Director-General of the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire

Professor Inza Koné is the new Director-General of the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d'Ivoire (CSRS), a long-standing partner institution of Swiss TPH. Starting on 1 July 2018, he will succeed Professor Bassirou Bonfoh, who led CSRS over the past nine years.

Koné is trained in tropical ecology, is recognized as a renowned expert in primatology and has published extensively on various topics of conservation biology. Since 2014 he is Associate Professor at the Laboratoire de Zoologie et Biologie Animale at the Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan, and since 2015, Director of Research and Development at CSRS. Earlier this year, he was also appointed Director of the African Society of Primatology.

Founded in 1951 with support from Swiss TPH, CSRS has developed into a prime example of Swiss-African research partnership. Today, over 200 researchers and employees work for CSRS, conducting research on nutrition, biodiversity and health and implementing projects in Côte d'Ivoire and the sub-region.
