Dr. med. Irene Falgas Bague, MD, PhD

Dr. Irene Falgas-Bague is a clinical psychiatrist and researcher at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health institute. She conducts clinical research within the Community Health Worker (CHW) model. Her expertise is in cultural and social psychiatry and access and barriers to behavioral health services.  Dr. Falgas-Bague focuses her research and teaching on intervention development and cultural adaptations of psychosocial interventions delivered by community health workers to reduce mental health and substance use symptoms of people living in low-resourced settings.
