UNFPA ASRH Evaluation - Evaluation of the UNFPA Support to Adolescents and Youth

The purpose of the Evaluation of the UNFPA Support to Adolescents and Youth was to generate information for evidence-based decision-making, to document key lessons learned and to provide accountability to UNFPA stakeholders. The evaluation was also envisaged as a learning opportunity to contribute to the current UNFPA Strategy on Adolescents and Youth (2012-2020) and towards accelerating the implementation of the Program of Action adopted at the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in 1994. The evaluation aimed to document results of the A&Y program at the global, regional and country level and assess the contribution of UNFPA to improvements in adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health in program countries in all UNFPA regions of operation (Eastern and Southern Africa, Western and Central Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Eastern Europe and Central Asia). The evaluation assessed relevance, effectiveness, sustainability, efficiency, coordination and the added value of the contribution of UNFPA to the field by using a mixed methods approach.
