Research at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) adheres to three basic principles: (i) an interactive process between the populations concerned (the field) and the laboratory/ office (the bench), (ii) interdisciplinary approaches to health and well-being and (iii) a research process undertaken in partnership. There is, in addition, internal peer review of all projects, and the External Research Review Team provides valuable critical guidance through its annual visits. The reports from all eight Swiss TPH research teams and the publications generated from this research demonstrate how these key principles inspired internationally recognised applied and basic science. We are tempted to conclude that it is largely the iterative process between basic sciences and applied or operational studies that allows us to pursue successfully our applied mandate of contributing to health development, nationally and worldwide.
Included are the Institute's publications since 1970, although we can only guarantee the completeness of the database from 1999 onwards. In this database you find contributions in research journals but also references of public reports, habilitation theses and dissertations. The lists shown are sorted according to year and type of publication.
