3 new professors at the STI

 

The STI is pleased to announce the promotion of three senior scientists in the Department of Public Health and Epidemiology as titular professors at the University of Basel. Prof. Don de Savigny has innovated applications for use of epidemiological data in health systems, and he heads a unit at STI on Interventions and Health Systems. Prof. Christian Lengeler has a long record of research experience in Tanzania that is guiding use of bednets for malaria control throughout Africa. Prof. Brigit Obrist van Eeuwijk is a leading contributor to the development of theory and applications in the fields of medical anthropology, urban health studies, and the health impact of vulnerability and resilience.
