Biostatistics and Computational Sciences

The Biostatistics and Computational Sciences Group within the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) conducts long-term research projects in epidemiology, in collaboration with biomedical scientists. It also carries out methodological research and develops and applies new methods in biostatistics and epidemiology. The main areas of focus are simulation modelling of malaria epidemiology and statistical modelling of the geographical distributions of parasitic infections.

The group offers teaching, consulting and data services to the other groups in the Swiss TPH, including training in statistics for MSc and PhD students, consultation on study design, statistical analysis and bioinformatics support.
