Profile
Mar Velarde is a Public Health expert with more than ten years of international experience on global health projects. Mar Velarde did her bachelor degree on pharmaceutical studies at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. In 2010 she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship and in 2012 she completed her Master in Public Health with a focus on Epidemiology at the University of Columbia, NY. After that, she worked for two different departments within the World Health Organization (WHO), namely the Global Malaria Programme and the Department of Neglected Tropical Diseases. Since 2018, Mar has been working at the SwissTPH in the Epidemiology and Public Health Department.
