Heat and health: The effect of heat islands, green space and other factors
Project Abstract
Numerous studies have reported an association between high ambient temperatures and mortality or morbidity. In this project we aim to assess the effect of various environmental and socio-demographic factors that may modify these associations. A better understanding of how urban heat islands, green space, building characteristics, public health interventions and socio-demographic factors modify heat-related mortality risk is important for developing effective climate change adaption measures.
