Damien Revault

Damien Revault an expert in health economics and health insurance / micro insurance graduated from the Ecole Nationale d'assurance in France (Msc. Insurance Management), and holds more than 20 years of experience in international development in both Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Damien has a solid expertise in health financing and has gained this through his wide range of experiences for example in: programme management and consulting in performance-based financing, health insurance, financing policies in the social sectors, and universal health coverage strategies, mutual health insurance, including the design of tools for the collection and analysis of health and socio-economic data management.

He is currently leading three major public health development projects in West and Central Africa, and has conducted various studies in Sub-Saharan Africa. This includes the evaluation of the voucher scheme in CAR, the study of the DRC's experience with main voluntary health insurance mechanisms (Mutuals) or the study on public expenditures in social sectors in the DRC, in partnership with various international organizations and donors. Before joining Swiss TPH, Damien acted as an independent consultant before joining and as such, he gained knowledge and became familiar with the dynamics of the private sector in fragile states in Africa.
