Prof. Dr. Peter Odermatt

Peter Odermatt, Prof. PhD, leads the Bachelor-Master-Doctorate Unit of the Education and Teaching Department and the Helminth & Health research group in the Ecosystem Health Sciences Unit at the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the Swiss TPH. He holds an MSc in Medical Parasitology, a PhD in Epidemiology (University of Basel), and an MPH (Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, USA). After 3 years of postdoctoral research in Burkina Faso and Mauritania, he worked for several years in helminthiasis control programs in Cambodia and co-directed for six years a post-graduate training center on tropical health in Vientiane, Lao PDR. At Swiss TPH his research, and teaching and training pertain to the epidemiology, control and health impact of helminth infections, including schistosomiasis, food-borne trematodiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis, particularly in Lao PDR, Cambodia and DR Congo.
