The Certificate of Advanced Studies in Health Research and Interventions (CAS HRI) provides international participants with an in-depth understanding of global health.

You will develop the competencies to collect, analyse, and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data relevant to improving health and health care in low- and middle-income societies (Module A: Concepts and Health Research). You will also acquire the skills and knowledge to identify, understand and address the interrelated determinants of health and the major health problems of populations from a cross-sectoral and transdisciplinary perspective in low- and middle-income settings and at the global level (Module B: Health Challenges and Responses).

With a focus on practical application and interactive training, participants in the CAS HRI benefit from interaction with experts from various fields and with the international and diverse student body participating in the full-time Diploma of Advanced Studies in Health Care and Management: From Research to Implementation (DAS HCM).

The CAS HRI can be completed in modules over one or two years. Starting with Module A is recommended but not mandatory.

The CAS in Health Research and Interventions can be completed full-time in 8 weeks or modularly, with Modules A and B of 4 weeks each, over 2 years. After successful completion, you can easily progress to the DAS Health Care and Management by taking the CAS in Health Systems and Management (CAS HSM) and an oral exam.
