Malaria laboratory diagnostics

Malaria diagnostics can only be requested by treating physicians or laboratories and are available Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 17:00. The diagnostic laboratory is closed outside these hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Please always register samples in advance by phone at +41 61 284 82 61. Samples received by 17:00 during the week are processed on the same day, with results communicated by phone within approximately two hours. Samples received later are processed on the next working day.

Tropical medicine service

Treating physicians can contact the emergency services of the Centre for Tropical and Travel Medicine for questions regarding the diagnosis and treatment of tropical or parasitic infections.
