Professional activities at Swiss TPH

• Cultivation of  Plasmodium falciparum and Babesia divergens
• invitro assays for MMV, WHO and others
• Student teaching, practical training of interns and apprentices
• Organization, preparation, assistance, and conduct of various educational events
• Cultivation of pathogens, vectors, intermediate hosts, arthropods, and amphibians (various parasites, worms, ticks, and freshwater snails) for course purposes and for the production of antigens for serodiagnostics
• Conducting animal experiments to maintain parasite life cycles in rodents: Schistosoma mansoni, Strongyloides ratti, Acanthocheilonema viteae, Angiostrongylus cantonensis, Fasciola hepatica, Leishmania donovani, Trichinella spiralis
• Antigen production for serodiagnostics at the Diagnostics Center from various larvae and adult worms, such as S. mansoni, S. ratti, A. viteae, and Angiostrongylus cantonensis
• Institute and laboratory tours for internal and external visitors at Swiss TPH
