Evidence for change as emerging from the r4d public health

15 projects jointly funded by the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) within the Swiss Programme for Research on Global Issues for Development (r4d programme) have produced various new scientific evidence in the field of public health of potential interest to policy and decision-making. The present synthesis initiative proposes to extend on the scientific results achieved so far by (1) identifying policy and decision-makers concerned by results as emerging by the research results, (2) promoting mutual learning and capacity building through the development and implementation (over a period of 12 to 18 months) of a series of webinars targeting both scientists active in global health and policy, and decision-makers operating at global and national level, and (3) translating the conclusions of the webinars into a session at the Geneva Health Forum (GHF) 2020. Supporting recent insights into the ongoing alignment of the global health research agenda to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development the webinars and GHF session will give emphasis to the implications of research findings in the context of the drive towards Universal Health Coverage, greater gender equity, and increased social inclusion.
The date of the first webinar is on 26 November, 2019 - more information will follow soon.
