Master of Science in Epidemiology

The MSc degree in Epidemiology centres on the pursuit of  the link between epidemiology and public health, and on epidemiological research topics such as  population-based clinical or interventions research and analysis. All courses are taught in English.
Beginning each year in the Autumn term, the MSc in Epidemiology normally requires four terms (two years) to accumulate the required 120 credit points.


Minimal requirements for a this programme are:

Bachelor of Science in Biology, in Human, Veterinary and Dental Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing Sciences, Life Sciences, Applied Biomedical Science, Agricultural Sciences, Forestry, Food Sciences, Sports Science, Biochemistry, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Geography, Environmental Sciences. The Bachelor degree has to have a minimum average mark of 5 (converted into the Swiss grading system).

Students with a BSc in a different subject will be assessed individually.

Required documentation of a basic knowledge in biology (2 CP) and mathematics or biostatistics (2 CP).

For students with a relevant BSc degree but an insufficient mark, the student can alternatively pass the GRE test in the area of “Quantitative Reasoning” provided the result is in the top 35 %.

Deadline for registration is the 30th of April preceding the September start of the degree courses.
