Environment and Health

We improve people's health and well-being by addressing health determinants in human-environment systems.

Swiss TPH is committed to the sustainable prevention, surveillance and control of infectious and non-communicable diseases and the improvment of environmental conditions for the benefit of public and global health by conducting interdisciplinary and translational research. We assess environmental exposures such as indoor and outdoor air pollution, radiation, climate change, noise, pesticides and water pollution using innovative ecological and systems approaches such as One Health and EcoHealth. At Swiss TPH, we investigate the complex interplay of risk and protective factors affecting human health and well-being, and apply state-of-the-art exposomal approaches to improve mechanistic and causal understanding of these processes. We bring our expertise to relevant national and international policy bodies and commissions to ensure science-to-policy translation.
