Development of practical training programmes for selected health professionals in Uzbekistan

Swiss TPH was mandated by GIZ to develop practical training programmes for selected health professionals in Uzbekistan between 2024-2026. Our team of international and national nursing and midwifery education experts will be developing training programmes with a focus on pratical competencies and use of skills laboratories for lecturers at 7 education institutions in Surxondaryo region- at the border to Afghanistan - and beyond. The training will focus on essential and advanced skills in nursing and midwifery competencies. Following the inception phase a co-design workshop with directors and lecturers from the respective educational instiuttions will shape the training outline and ensure alignment to the national context. The training programmes will be approved by the Ministry of Health/TIPME to ensure national standards are met. A total of 30 master trainers will be trained, following a cascading to over 250 additional lecturers. Our team will provide mentoring and monitoring throughout the activities.

We will work closely with GIZ, national stakeholders including the Ministry of Health, TIPME, TMA, RCAEMPP and the respective Technicums among others.
