Serej Ley

Profile 

Serej Ley is an experienced interdisciplinary project manager with international work experience in academia, private sector/start-up and government. She has an MSc in molecular biology and a PhD in microbiology, with several years of experience in infectious disease and clinical diagnostics research, including several years in interdiciplinary R&D project management. Her expertise spans antimicrobial resistance detection, molecular assay development in point-of-care diagnostics, stakeholder management and project management. She possesses comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of molecular methods and has contributed to the development of national and international health policies. Additionally, Serej has extensive international work experience, having worked in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams across Switzerland, Papua New Guinea, Australia, and South Africa.

  • Project coordination of the development and proof-of-concept phase of a potential malaria diagnostic test
  • Research project on Bartonella henselae erythrocyte invasion
