Global Goods Innovators Summit - Facilitate the openIMIS team’s participation in the Global Goods Innovators Summit

Digital public goods (DPGs) are defined by the UN Secretary-General, in the Roadmap for Digital Cooperation, as “open source software, open data, open AI models, open standards and open content that adhere to privacy and other applicable laws and best practices, do no harm, and help attain the Sustainable Development Goals.” Digital Square promotes the development, adoption, and reuse of digital health global goods, and helps increase their availability, adaptability, and maturity.

The Global Goods Guidebook showcases emergent and established global goods that are approved for investment through Digital Square. By better coordinating the development of digital health global goods, such as those presented in the guidebook, stakeholders involved in digital health can reduce duplication and ensure that platforms are not only more aligned with national priorities, but that they strengthen health systems.

As part of the openIMIS Initiative, Swiss TPH contributes to the platform's development and implementation. In light of this, Swiss TPH submitted the request to include openIMIS in the Global Good Guidebook. With its acceptance and inclusion, the Swiss TPH team was invited to attend the 2023 Global Good Innovators Meeting, which was hosted on the African continent, and provided an opportunity to network, learn, and obtain insights from the larger global community. This event provided unique opportunities for direct engagement with a variety of donors and supporters of the global goods guidebook and concept in general, as well as key ministries utilising global goods and countries interested in global goods.
