Economic evaluations are fundamental in health to ensure limited resources are allocated in the most efficient way. They provide a structured, transparent approach to help decision-makers choose between alternative ways of using resources for health. The Swiss TPH offers a broad range of economic evaluation services including cost analyses, cost-effectiveness, cost-benefit and budget impact analyses.
We work with partners in the public and private sector in Switzerland and with international agencies such as GAVI, GIZ, GFATM, and BMGF to support policy- and decision-makers in determining which options are efficient and affordable. Economic decision modelling on a global scale, such as the strategies to control and eliminate malaria , or at country level, such as the cost-effectiveness of introducing an innovative vaccine delivery system are examples of our profound experience in this area.
In addition, we provide advice to policy makers and donor agencies such as the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation about the routine inclusion of value-for-money analysis for their health sector programmes and projects.
