Dr. Flavia Camponovo

Dr. Flavia Camponovo is an infectious disease modeller, interested in linking biological concepts to mathematical models to understand key mechanisms in infectious diseases, especially malaria.

With a Master degree in bioengineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technologies and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from Swiss TPH, she spent over 2 years at the Harvard School of Public Health at the Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics as Postdoctoral Research Fellow then Research Associate, where she focused on the development of multiscale malaria models, and combine epidemiological data with genomic data to inform malaria surveillance. Her PhD focused on mathematical models and quantitative analysis for malaria vaccine interventions. Currently a senior postdoctoral fellow in the Analytics and Intervention Modelling group at Swiss-TPH, Dr. Flavia Camponovo leverages agent-based malaria models to inform national malaria strategic plans.

Native French and German, she is fluent in English, and proficient in Spanish.
